He didn’t let it drag him down.
The hosts of “The View” took aim at podcaster and comedian Joe Rogan — who adopted one of their insults as a badge of honor.
Veteran talk show host Joy Behar called out the world’s most famous podcaster during a conversation about young Americans getting their news from influencers.
“We went from Walter Kronkite, basically, to this guy Joe Rogan, who believes in dragons,” Behar said in disbelief.
“I checked him out,” she continues, “and he also believes that dragons, I don’t know, like dinosaur-type animals, roamed the Earth when humans did.
“So that’s the kind of really bad information that’s getting out there,” she concluded.
Rogan didn’t take the attempt too seriously.
The host of “The Joe Rogan Experience” took to X and cited a clip of Behar giving her assessment of his esoteric beliefs.
“This is my new official X description,” he wrote – and promptly changed his bio on the social media platform to read, “Dragon Believer”.
Rogan then posted a conversation with biologist and adventurer Forrest Galante titled, “Were Dragons Real Animals?”
“It’s so possible that something that flew like a pterodactyl, the way we think of pterodactyls as bat wings, maybe they had feathers, maybe a giant bird of prey, and maybe some of those things looked like dragons,” Rogan said in a previous post. conversation after that episode, according to Fox News.
“Think of all these different cultures, ancient Europe, medieval, China, Japan, they all had dragons, there are so many dragons, it could be a real thing and I think most of them didn’t have dragons that could spit . fire or, I think it was like a Hollywood movie, a Godzilla-type deal,” he added.
Rogan then sent a flurry of tweets spreading the word.
The former “Fear Factor” host retweeted someone posting the biblical passage Job 41:18-21, which describes Leviathan in a way that could also apply to a dragon.
The comedian then cited a biological description of a theoretical dragon, writing: “I want to believe.”
The brain trust on “The View” was originally discussing a new poll that claimed many young Americans get their news from social media influencers who lean politically to the right.
Behar took the opportunity to pat her own show on the back — and take a jab at Rogan — after co-host Sara Haines warned viewers about the dangers of fake videos and misinformation.
Haines warned viewers to “triple check” anything before letting it bother them.
Behar had her characteristic reductive look.
“I think that’s why people like our show,” the former comedian said. “Because they know we’re controlled by ABC News.”
“We’re being controlled by everyone,” said co-host Whoopi Goldberg.
