Joe Rogan Responds to Joy Behar for Claiming He ‘Believes in Dragons’

Joe Rogan hit back at “The View” co-host Joy Behar, who called the Spotify podcast an unreliable source of information that “believes in dragons.”

Rogan confronted Behar’s comments head-on during a special podcast episode that aired on Thanksgiving.

The podcaster, who commands an audience estimated to exceed 11 million people, has been a hot topic of conversation during the last election after he endorsed the eventual winner — President-elect Donald Trump.

Rogan has been critical of the legacy media for being out of touch with ordinary Americans.

“I had to read it for ‘The View’ because I just thought it was funny,” Rogan told guests and fellow comedians Mark Normand, Shane Gillis and Ari Shaffir on “The Joe Rogan Experience.”

“Joy Behar was trying to say I believe in dragons! She said, ‘I checked, I checked!’ And then the lady goes, ‘Did you double check,’ and she says, ‘I checked, he believes in dragons. They lived alongside people,’” Rogan said with a laugh.

Rogan attacked Behar over her claim that “The View” provided hard information because it was backed by ABC News sources.

“This is the most important part. This is right after she said, ‘We’re run by ABC News, you have to trust us,’ not Joe Rogan who believes in dragons,’ so saying we have to trust them because they’re double-checked by ABC News and then they make the stupidest King Statement — You didn’t hear what I said, you didn’t hear what the wildlife biologist said,” he said.

Rogan accused Behar of “frantic” behavior in light of falling TV ratings that could cost her her job.

“When you’re worried about losing your job and you’re worried about podcasts taking over and who’s the source of the news and, ‘We said Donald Trump is Hitler, but half the country disagreed with us and that’s crazy and Joe Rogan believes to dragons!’ It’s just crazy,” Rogan said.

The podcaster added that he had “no hate for Joy Behar.”

“If I saw him, I would hug him. “I would probably say the same thing about me if I were her,” he said.

Rogan went on to characterize the controversy as “no big deal…but it’s a silly thing to say.”

“It undermines your personal credibility if you say we’re so good because we’re backed by ABC News and then you Joe Rogan believes in dragons in the next sentence,” he said.

The post requested comment from Behar.

Rogan was reacting to a clip of Behar, who told her View co-hosts last Thursday: “We went from Walter Cronkite, basically, to this guy Joe Rogan who believes in dragons. And I checked.”

Behar’s co-host on “The View,” Sara Haines, asked her, “Do you have the triple source?”

“Yes, I did,” Behar replied. “And he also thinks that dragon-like animals—presumably the dinosaur type—roamed the Earth when humans did.”

“So this is some really, really bad information that’s getting out there. But it’s possible that Donald Trump walked the Earth when the dinosaurs were here,” Behar said.

The comments were reported by Mediaite.

The segment Behar appeared to be referring to was from an interview Rogan conducted with Forrest Galante, a wildlife biologist.

Galante told Rogan about an “idea out there” that dragons may have been alive at one point. He cited cultural similarities in dragon drawings as evidence.

Rogan did not fully embrace the theory of the existence of dragons, although he argued that depictions of dragons were likely traced back to large lizards.

“My position is that maybe it’s crocodiles or some big Komodo dragon or some big lizard that killed people and so people fought them with swords and shit and they came back with a story and the artist drew it,” Rogan said this week.
